As we discussed in last month's newsletter, there has been an increase in car break-ins in San Francisco as of late. In almost all cases, the items stolen are laptops, tablets or other high-end technology devices. Thieves are using technology to select their targets by looking for WiFi and Bluetooth signals broadcasted from these devices. Once they identify a vehicle with a laptop, they’ll follow the signal until the vehicle is left unattended. All it takes is a few seconds and the thieves are gone with their loot. When parking in San Francisco or near The Green Cross, please be mindful of this. Do not leave valuables in your vehicle or assume your laptop is safe in your trunk. All it takes is for a thief to smash in your windows and hit the trunk release lever to access your trunk. We hope this information will help you avoid becoming a victim of a needless theft.  We still need your help! As we mentioned previously, there is a national coin shortage happening in the U.S. right now as a result of the pandemic. Due to this shortage, The Green Cross has a very limited supply of coins and we're finding it extremely challenging to provide proper change to our members. As a cash-only business, we rely heavily on coins to complete member transactions. If you have any extra coins, we are more than happy to exchange them for paper bills. We would greatly appreciate it if you would bring them by our storefront location at your convenience. Our staff can assist you with counting the coins and translating them to the equivalent dollar amounts. Kamala Harris (D–Calif.) and Vice President Mike Pence skirting question after question. One exception: Harris's promise that a Biden-Harris administration would decriminalize marijuana. "We will decriminalize marijuana and we will expunge the records of those who have been convicted of marijuana," she said. And it wasn’t long before questions began to arise around cannabis use and the new virus.
