GreenState.com - The cannabis community has been on the edge of its seat as the federal government considers moving the plant to a less restrictive status. President Trump hinted in August that a decision on rescheduling would be coming within “a few weeks,” but two months later, the administration is still mum. The posting of a pro-CBD video to Trump’s social media sent the industry into a frenzy, with many believing it to be a clue for what’s to come. Now, the president’s staff is hinting that those suspicions may have been correct.

An unnamed White House spokesman told The Free Press a decision on rescheduling is likely by the end of the year, but could come as “soon as this month.” Another anonymous White House official admitted rescheduling is “good politics,” given that the majority of Republicans favor legalization. Read more »

​California’s Cannabis Task force seizes and eradicates over $222 million in illegal cannabis in Q3 2025

Gov.CA.gov - Between July and September 2025, California’s Unified Cannabis Enforcement Task Force (UCETF) conducted 17 multiagency operations across 15 counties, seizing and eradicating more than 66.5 tons of illegal cannabis valued at over $222 million. More than 234,000 cannabis plants were destroyed during these coordinated enforcement actions.

Governor Gavin Newsom today announced that California’s cannabis enforcement efforts led to the seizure and destruction of over $222 million worth of illegal cannabis from July to September 2025. Partners across state government, a part of the California Unified Cannabis Enforcement Task Force (UCETF) worked together to seize illegal cannabis, plants and firearms from unlawful cannabis operations across California. Read more »
