Action Alert: AB 564 Passes Senate — Now It’s Up to Governor Newsom

Big progress! The California Senate has voted in favor of AB 564, the bill that would roll back the cannabis excise tax from 19% to 15% starting October 1. This is a major step toward restoring fairness and affordability for cannabis consumers and businesses across the state.

But we’re not done yet. The bill now returns to the Assembly for a quick concurrence vote on Senate amendments, due by Friday, September 13 at midnight. Once that’s done, AB 564 heads to Governor Newsom’s desk for final approval.

We need your help now. Please write to Governor Newsom today and urge him to sign AB 564 into law.

​Texas Governor issues executive order to regulate hemp THC products

CannabisBusinessTimes.com - Texas Gov. Greg Abbott signed an executive order on Sept. 10 that directs three state agencies to implement polices to further regulate the state’s multibillion-dollar market for hemp products containing THC and other intoxicating cannabinoids.
